Achraf Hakimi Scores First Career Hat-Trick as PSG Thrash Le Havre 5-1 in Ligue 1

Achraf Hakimi delivered a performance to remember on Friday night, scoring the first hat-trick of his professional career and providing two assists as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) came from behind to secure an emphatic 5-1 victory over Le Havre in Ligue 1.

The Moroccan international was involved in every goal as the French champions turned an early setback into a comfortable victory, further strengthening their position at the top of the league table.

The result also made it a historic evening for PSG manager Luis Enrique, who became the most successful coach in the club’s history after recording his 127th victory, moving past Laurent Blanc’s previous record.

Despite being the reigning French and European champions, PSG were initially caught off guard by the struggling hosts. Former Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion striker Josh Maja stunned the visitors by giving Le Havre the lead in the 18th minute.

However, PSG quickly found their rhythm, with Hakimi stepping up to change the course of the match.

The 27-year-old first provided the assist for Mika Godts to bring PSG level before putting his side ahead just two minutes later with a composed finish.

Hakimi continued his outstanding display after the break, curling a superb free kick into the net from around 20 yards to complete his hat-trick and give PSG further control of the contest.

His contribution did not end there. In the 69th minute, the right-back played a decisive through ball that allowed Senny Mayulu to score PSG’s fourth goal. Hakimi was later credited with his third goal after the ball took a fortunate deflection on its way into the net.

It was a remarkable achievement for the Moroccan defender, who had not scored a goal this season before Friday’s encounter. His first career hat-trick came in his 486th appearance at club and international level.

Hakimi also joined an exclusive group of players to record five goal contributions in a single match across Europe’s top five leagues over the past four seasons. The last player to achieve the feat in Ligue 1 was Neymar, who accomplished the same milestone for PSG in August 2022.

The victory extended PSG’s winning streak to nine matches in all competitions, while also marking their sixth consecutive league triumph. It represents a remarkable turnaround for Luis Enrique’s side, who collected just one point from their opening three league fixtures.

PSG have also shown impressive resilience despite dealing with several injury problems. Key attacking players Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remain sidelined, forcing Luis Enrique to make adjustments to his starting lineup.

Nevertheless, the Spanish manager has continued to get the best out of his squad, with Hakimi producing one of the standout individual performances of the season.

Beyond the three points, the evening will be remembered for two major milestones: Hakimi’s first-ever hat-trick and Luis Enrique’s record-breaking achievement as PSG’s most successful manager.

For Hakimi, it was a special night that underlined his importance to the team. For PSG, it was another statement of intent as they continue their push for domestic and European success.Achraf Hakimi Scores First Career Hat-Trick as PSG Thrash Le Havre 5-1 in Ligue 1
